SIMBIONIX ARTHRO MENTOR:

The Simbionix Arthro Mentor is an advanced arthroscopic training simulator designed for the most effective acquisition of the skills required for arthroscopic surgery.

The simulator features a line of simulated procedures, intelligently combining fibreglass limb replicas with 3D images and haptic sensation, to allow users to learn key aspects of the procedures.

Simulated procedures are performed utilizing a realistic set of tools as used in the operating theatre including the arthroscopic camera, which allow the trainee to acquire a true-to-life hands-on experience.

Training modules in increasing levels of difficulty include healthy anatomies and various pathologies, providing trainees with the opportunity to practice basic skills and master procedure skills.

The Arthro Mentor features educational aids such as panoramic views and a set of metrics for complete objective assessment of the learning process.

ARTHRO MENTOR MODULES:

BASIC SKILLS MODULES - KNEE & SHOULDER:

Library of basic training cases for essential arthroscopy skills.

Camera allowing 0º, 30º or 70º angles with healthy Knee or shoulder anatomy models

SHOULDER DIAGNOSTIC MODULE:

This module includes:

• Two basic coordination and triangulation training tasks with healthy shoulder anatomy models in both the glenohumeral and the subacromial spaces.

Including: Glenohumeral Examination, Subacromial Examination.

• Eight diagnostic arthroscopy training tasks of shoulder pathological anatomy models in both the glenohumeral and the subacromial spaces.

Including: L/C Shape RC Tear, Impingement, Anterior and Posterior Bankart, SLAP,

Cartilage Lesion, Buford Complex, Sublabaral Hoe, and Pathology Diagnosis.

SHOULDER THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES MODULE:

This module includes:

• Five fundamental steps task for shoulder arthroscopic procedures in both the glenohumeral and the subacromial spaces.

Including: ASD, RCR, Micro Fractures, Loose Body Removal and Suture Handling.

KNEE DIAGNOSTIC MODULE:

This module includes:

• Basic coordination and triangulation task of healthy knee anatomy - Joint Examination.

• Seven diagnostic arthroscopy tasks of knee pathological anatomy.

Including: Longitudinal Tear, Pathology Diagnosis, Horizontal Tear, Flap Tear, Radial

Tear, Bucket Handle Tear, and Parrot Peak Tear.

KNEE THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES MODULE:

This module includes:

• Four fundamental steps tasks of knee arthroscopic procedures.

Including: ACL Repair, Menisectomy, Microfractures and Loose Body Removal.

Fundamentals of Arthroscopic Surgery Training
