SIMBIONIX PERC MENTOR:
The Simbionix PERC Mentor is a truly unique training system which combines designated hardware and software to create a true-to-life sensation of performing real Percutaneous Renal Access procedures.
The Simbionix PERC Mentor features 2 interchangeable cartridges enabling access practice on normal or obese patients and access to the right or left kidney.
Each cartridge represents the virtual patient's flank approached from the back.
The cartridges are fitted with life-like layers of epidermis and dermis, combined with simulated ribs. Realistic hands on training is enhanced by the tactile sensations felt when manoeuvring through the various layers and ribs
The comprehensive library of modules provides a curriculum for the training of basic and advanced procedures, starting with general essential Percutaneous Renal Access skills, continuing with clinical and challenging procedures.
PERC MENTOR MODULES:
BASIC TASKS MODULE:
6 basic tasks in increasing levels of difficulty enable the trainee to learn skills necessary for performing percutaneous renal access procedures performed under real-time fluoroscopy.
PCN PROCEDURES - NORMAL PATIENTS MODULE:
The module, consisting of 7 cases, offers training on a variety of virtual normal weight patients with different renal anatomies and pathologies.
The module provides an ideal opportunity to practice identifying the correct access to the proper calyx through a variety of access sites.
PCN PROCEDURES - OBESE PATIENTS MODULE :
The module, consisting of 7 cases, offers training on a variety of obese virtual patients with different renal anatomies and pathologies.
Using a designated cartridge representing the virtual patient's back and an authentic needle, the trainee may practice performing the procedure on this type of patient before encountering the situation live in the operating
